Scope and Application
This policy applies to all interactions with the OddSpeak website, including the account registration flow, sportsbook interface, promotional pages, customer support tools, responsible gaming features, and all related communications sent by or on behalf of OddSpeak.
A production version of this policy would need to be tailored to reflect the actual operator identity, licensing structure, technology stack, payment partners, identity verification providers, data hosting regions, and applicable obligations under Alberta's privacy and gaming legislation.
Information Collected at Registration
When creating an OddSpeak account, we may collect your first and last name, email address, chosen password, date of birth, province of residence, policy acceptance timestamps, account activation status, and technical metadata associated with your registration session.
A fully operational sportsbook may also require government-issued identity document details, residential address, phone number, geolocation signals, fraud risk indicators, payment method information, source of funds declarations, responsible gaming preferences, and historical transaction records.
Age and Residency Verification
OddSpeak is a platform reserved exclusively for Alberta residents aged 18 and over. A complete platform implementation must verify age, identity, and physical location before permitting deposits, wagers, withdrawals, or promotional participation.
Location verification may be conducted through browser geolocation permissions, IP address analysis, device signals, mobile network data, or services provided by approved geolocation technology vendors. Users physically located outside Alberta are not authorized to place wagers on this platform.
Payment and Financial Data
The current OddSpeak interface displays payment method logos but does not process any financial transactions including deposits, withdrawals, wagers, bonus credits, or refunds. No card data or banking information is collected through this platform at this stage.
In a fully operational version, the platform may process payment card details, transaction identifiers, withdrawal request data, chargeback records, anti-money-laundering review information, account balance history, promotional credit ledgers, and tax or reporting records as required by applicable law.
Cookies, Analytics, and Device Data
A live OddSpeak platform may employ cookies, browser local storage, analytics tags, fraud detection scripts, session tokens, and user preference storage to support login functionality, odds format selection, user experience personalisation, security enforcement, and regulatory compliance.
Where required by law, users will be presented with clear information about cookies and offered meaningful choices. Certain cookies essential to security, fraud prevention, and compliance may be required for the platform to function and cannot be disabled without degrading core functionality.
How We Use Your Information
Information collected through OddSpeak may be used to create and manage accounts, verify eligibility and identity, secure accounts against unauthorised access, deliver customer support, surface responsible gaming tools, personalise the betting interface, investigate disputes, prevent fraud, and fulfil legal and regulatory obligations.
In the current development build, form submissions are not transmitted to any backend systems. In production, the operating entity must document the lawful basis for each category of data collection and processing activity.
Disclosure of Information
Personal information may be disclosed to third-party service providers including hosting and infrastructure companies, identity verification vendors, payment processors, geolocation suppliers, analytics platforms, fraud prevention partners, customer support systems, legal advisors, and gaming or financial regulators where required.
Any disclosures made by the operating entity should be limited to what is necessary for legitimate business, security, compliance, or legal purposes. Contracts with third parties must include appropriate data protection obligations.
Security Safeguards
A production OddSpeak platform should implement technical and organisational safeguards including encryption of data in transit and at rest, secure credential storage, role-based access controls, audit logging, continuous monitoring, secure development lifecycle practices, incident response procedures, and regular vendor risk assessments.
No digital platform can provide an absolute guarantee of security. Users are encouraged to select strong, unique passwords, protect their devices, and report any suspicious account activity to support immediately.
Data Retention
Personal information should be retained only for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes described in the governing policy, including account maintenance, fraud prevention, responsible gaming compliance, dispute resolution, legal obligations, financial accounting, and any applicable regulatory recordkeeping requirements.
Certain records may be required to be retained beyond account closure where mandated by law, anti-money-laundering controls, dispute handling processes, or responsible gaming obligations.
Your Privacy Rights
Where permitted by applicable privacy legislation, individuals may have the right to request access to their personal information, to correct inaccurate records, to inquire about disclosures made to third parties, and to understand options for submitting privacy-related complaints.
A full production deployment must establish clear identity verification procedures for handling privacy requests and provide escalation pathways for unresolved concerns, including contact details for the relevant regulatory authority.
Minors and Underage Access
OddSpeak is not intended for, and does not knowingly collect information from, individuals under the age of 18. Date of birth is collected during account registration as a first-layer check, and a fully operational platform must employ stronger, independent age verification measures before any gambling-related features are enabled.
If the operator becomes aware that an underage individual has created an account or accessed the platform, the account must be immediately restricted or closed and all associated records handled in accordance with applicable law and responsible gaming policy.
